Player of the month of April Kay
The club award for the best player of the month April won Kay.
Three players - Federico Taborda, Kay and Marko Tešija - was competed for the best player of the month April. Finally, the winner was the 31-year-old Carlos Kay, a center-back who won the race with a huge lead.
“I´m happy to have won this award. Especially now that we have a great form and we play nice football, every single player in the team could get this award. I am very pleased, this award means that everything is going in the right direction,” admitted the player with number 31, for whom it is the premier victory in this club poll.
A native of Cape Verde came to Senice during the running season, his premiere in our jersey was in 2:2 draw on Pasienky against Slovan Bratislava. He brought his experience and good organization of the game to the back ranks, in the second part of the season he was one of the great bakcup of our team. In addition to good defense performance, he added four goals in the superstructure part of the league, which is always a great statistics for a defensive footballer.
“I think that the biggest difference between the introduction of the spring season and the superstructure is lucky. It turned in our props. When we lost five games at the beginning of spring, we played nice football, but we couldn´t push the ball into the gate several times. Everything has changed in the superstructure,” explains former Omonia Nikosia player, adding: “I am very happy for the goals and for this God´s blessing, I greatly appreciate this moment. But much more I am pleased that we have started winning matches. It helped us to achieve our goal. Who will score a goal is not essential.”
Belenenses, CS Craiovia, Omonia Nikosia and Senica. This was the football journey of fifty-five centimeters of a high defender. "I was born in Cape Verde, it´s a small paradise in the Atlantic Ocean. I started playing football when I was six. My brother brought me to the football, I always followed him and wanted to be like him. When I was 12 years old, I went to Portugal and started in Benfica Lisbon,"Kay reveals and added: "Door in Senica opened for me, which i am very grateful. I could prove to myself and people that I can still play football. I thank the people who got me here and gave me a chance."
